Prompt: Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and spending time with family over a nice dinner. Write about your most unforgettable meal.

My most unforgettable meal is turkey and gravy. I love the rich flavors and deluxe palette mixing together. Furthermore the soft and tender turkey fills me up so quickly which is very delightful. Also I loved not just the food but I love how it's a special meal I enjoy once a year with my family. I remember one Thanksgiving I was laughing at my sister she splashed the gravy all over making a huge mess.  Summary: Today in class we took a group quiz Reflection: I got a 100% on the quiz.

Prompt: Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

A time when I realized I needed to look out for myself in a silly situation is when I was when I was presenting a group project and the grade was counted as a huge portion, I had to actually focus. My group was funny and I would have laughed but I had to stay calm and serious so we get this project done. The way my group says stuff and does stuff is very awkward so, how could you not laugh? But for a decent grade.... I have to keep it in.  Summary: Today in class we finished the story and we watched a video on it. Reflection: I answered questions about the story and finished reading and understanding it as a class.

Prompt: Describe a time that you had an encounter with a homeless person, either directly or indirectly. What did you think and how did it make you feel?

A time when I indirectly encountered a homeless person was on the streets in Downtown. This made me feel pity for them and sad. I thought of how my life is right now, like how I have a home to sleep in and warmth and comfort. While they don't have anything. Like food, clothing, family, I have it all. They are always around the streets sleeping on the sidewalks. Summary: Today in class we read about a new story and answered questions. Reflection: I answered questions for paragraph 1-5 for the new story we are reading.

Prompt: Write about what you are thankful for.

I am thankful for my family and my home. People are homeless outside in the cold and my parents mention about them and give them money and water. I am thankful to have a home to live in because they are freezing outside while we live in a house. I am also thankful for my family because other people could have loss ones that died. From this I am thankful for still having my mom and dad. Summary: Today in class we studied a new vocabulary section. Reflection: I finished answering the vocabulary questions and blog post.

Prompt: The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?

A time when new information changed my perception of a situation was the times when I was struggling and I thought of things that could change how the situation goes. It changed the way I think and how I won't have to worry about the situation no more. Like how I could be rushing on homework, but then I realized it's not due yet and I was stressing for no reason. Summary: Today we took the post test on the story we read. Reflection: I worked with my group to get it done.

Prompt: In “A Rose for Emily,” Miss Emily’s actions shock the reader—she kills her fiancé and keeps his body in her home for years. People often react with disbelief when they hear about real-life stories that seem just as unbelievable. Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?

The most shocking news story I have ever heard is called The Tanganyika Laughter Epidemic. Basically in 1962 there was a outbreak in a village there Kashasha. This stood out to me because this is very strange and weird full of psychological questions. People where confused and it reveals that it was a  stress-induced  mass psychogenic illness. It even   caused contagious laughter in 1000 people in Tanzania. Summary: In class we continued reading the story, "A Rose for Emily". Reflection: I finished answering the question parts and finished my blog post.

Prompt: Miss Emily’s house once represented pride and tradition, but over time it became a symbol of decay and isolation. Describe a place that holds deep memories for you—positive or negative—and explain how it reflects part of who you are or how you’ve changed over time.

A place that holds deep memories for me is the playground. This changes how I've grown up so far and now days if you think about it teens don't really play on the playground anymore. But, I still do, even if you are too old for something, I still enjoy it. It holds memories when I was young and I would love to go back anytime and play. But since I have grown up now I can't really be a kid and go on the little kids playground. Where they still have such fun things. Summary: Today we read a new story and answered questions on Writable.  Reflection: I finished answering the different parts of the question and finished my blog.

Prompt: Think about the vocabulary words from Lesson Two. Write about a time you saw or heard one of these words outside of the classroom — maybe in a movie, song, social media post, or book. Describe how it was used and whether the context helped you understand the word better.

A time I saw one of these words was when I was reading a question in Lit class and I had to answer it in a paragraph. But, I didn't know what the word meant so I looked around the sentence to see what the word meant. It was used to talk about agriculture fields. The story was about how farm fields these days still exist and are being used still. The same exact word was used in our Unit 2 vocabulary. Summary: Today in class we worked on a new vocabulary unit. Reflection: I finished my vocabulary practice and blog post.

Thinking about “The Rockpile,” which parent or guardian in your life has been the strictest when it comes to discipline? Explain how their approach to discipline has influenced you or shaped your behavior.

When it comes to my life my mom is stricter then my dad. This influenced my behavior to act right and do things right. Since my mom disciplines me not too strictly but to a level that I have to learn and know what's right and wrong. So from then I make sure to be my best. This helps me in school and my peers around me by how I act.  Summary: Today in class we worked on finishing our presentation on our new story. Reflection: I am finishing my questions for my presentation while I finish reading the story.

Thinking about "The Rockpile," what is something your parents forbade you from doing when you were growing up? Explain what it was and why they might have set that rule.

A thing that my parents forbade me from doing while I was growing up was to be able to do things on my own, or like going out by myself. I think they set this rule because they still see me as that 2 year old Hamy since I look pretty young actually. But they won't let me go anywhere alone. If I do go I have to go with someones parents or a guy older than me. This is good because they care for me but I want to be independent and rely on myself. I don't want to feel like I am still small because I feel so in their control. Summary: In class we read a new poem and discussed questions. Reflection: I am working on finish reading the poem and my group presentation.

Words shape how we think, write, and interpret literature. Think about a time when learning a new word or understanding a specific term helped you better analyze a text, express an idea, or make your writing stronger.

A time when I learned a new word made me use the word more and remember it easily. I can use the word in writing better now and I can understand the word when I read it in essays or books. It makes my vocabulary expand and helps me learn more new words. It helps me write better essays and helps interpret questions more. From just one word it helps understand new ways to memorize it and evolve. Summary: In class today we learned new vocabulary words. Reflection: I finished answering the questions on the new words and finished my blog post.
